What Does SUCCESS Mean To You?

Think about what things will make you feel like you succeeded this year at school? Is it living away from home, getting straight A's in all your classes, keeping to your budget? These are great examples of success. But what if something happens, and you go over budget or the one of your classes and are not going to get an A? Not the end of the world. You have created this success criteria, it is also ok for you to change it. Maybe you won't get an A in that class you hate, you can change your goal. Maybe now the goal is to work hard enough to get a C in that class and focus the rest of your attention on the other classes you love.
You have the ability to change your goals, and change what will make you feel successful. You have graduated high school and are working towards gaining new skills and experiences, you are already successful.

Goal Setting

Visualize Your Goals

A vision board can be a great tool to see your SMART goals daily and remind yourself what you want to achieve. This does not mean you put it on your wall and think happy thoughts for it to happen, that will not work. What it does mean is you have a reminder of your goal, and the steps (SMART goal actionable steps) to achieve that goal.

It does not have to be anything fancy, it can be as simple as glue, scissors, magazines and poster board. Seeing your goals in a visual way can help remind you of your goals.

This can also be a great thing to do with roommates to bond and help each other succeed.

SMART Goals

It is important to create goals in your life, whether they are long term or short term, financially related or personal development, writing down those goals and the steps to ultimately achieving them will help you be more successful in reaching your goals.
SMART is an acronym for:
Specific (simple, sensible, significant).

Measurable (meaningful, motivating).

Achievable (agreed, attainable).

Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).

Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive)

It is just one way to define and organize your goals. To help you along the following article contains worksheets and step by step instructions on how to set up your goals for success.
